A comprehensive analysis of the precautions to be taken in the use of casters! Avoid risks easily

Precautions for the use of casters
1. Allowable Load
Do not exceed the allowable load.
The allowable loads in the catalog are the limits for manual handling on a flat surface.
2. Operating speed
Use the casters intermittently at walking speed or less on a level surface. Do not pull them by power (except for some casters) or use them continuously while they are hot.
3. Block
Please note that wear and tear from long-term use may unknowingly reduce the function of the stopper.
Generally speaking, the braking force varies depending on the caster material.
Considering the safety of the product, please use other means (wheel stops, brakes) when it is especially necessary.

4. Environment of use
Usually casters are used within the normal temperature range. (Except for some casters)
Do not use them in special environments affected by high or low temperatures, humidity, acids, alkalis, salts, solvents, oils, seawater, or pharmaceuticals.
5. Mounting method
① Keep the mounting surface as level as possible.
When installing a universal caster, keep the swivel axis in a vertical position.
When mounting fixed casters, keep the casters parallel to each other.
④Check the mounting holes and install them reliably with appropriate bolts and nuts to avoid loosening.
⑤ When mounting a screw-in caster, tighten the hexagonal part of the thread with appropriate torque.
If the tightening torque is too high, the shaft may break due to stress concentration.
(For reference, the appropriate tightening torque for a thread diameter of 12 mm is 20 to 50 N-m.)
