What is the difference between heavy duty industrial casters and medium duty industrial casters?

There are some significant differences between heavy duty industrial casters and medium duty industrial casters. These two types of casters play an important role in industrial equipment and handling tools, but they differ in terms of load-carrying capacity, structural design, and application scenarios.

First of all, heavy duty industrial casters have a higher load capacity compared to medium duty industrial casters. Heavy duty industrial casters are usually designed to carry large and heavy duty equipment or items. They are constructed with stronger materials and more robust structures that are able to remain stable under high loads and harsh working conditions. Heavy duty industrial casters typically have a load capacity of more than 1,000 kilograms on a single wheel, and can even reach several tons. In contrast, medium duty industrial casters have a lower load capacity, typically between a few hundred and 1,000 kilograms.

Secondly, heavy duty industrial casters are more complex and durable in terms of structural design. Due to the need to cope with greater pressure and harsher working conditions, heavy duty industrial casters are usually constructed to be more robust and durable. They are usually made of high-strength metal materials, such as steel or cast iron, to ensure that no deformation or damage occurs under heavy loads. In addition, the tire surface of heavy duty industrial casters usually has a larger contact area and deeper tread pattern to provide better grip and stability.

Finally, heavy duty industrial casters and medium duty industrial casters differ in their application scenarios. Heavy duty industrial casters are mainly used in scenarios that require carrying large weights and dealing with high loads, such as heavy machinery and equipment, industrial robots and large transportation vehicles. Medium duty industrial casters are used for small to medium loads on general industrial equipment, material handling vehicles, shelves and mobile workbenches. Due to the design features of heavy duty industrial casters, they are more suitable for use in environments such as industrial production lines, warehouses and manufacturing plants.
